In this workshop we will begin to explore the principles of giving powerful, safe and yet transformational yoga asana assists – a technique that is deeply rooted in the Jivamukti and Ashtanga Yoga methods, among others. Rather than focusing on learning the so-called “correct adjustment” for each pose, we will instead look at how to empower you to use and customize assists safely and effectively.
We will partner up and learn tips and techniques on adjustments for a typical yoga class – including standing and seated poses, as well as backbends and inversions, and will end the class with two 25-minute yoga sessions to allow time to practice assisting each other while flowing through postures.
Yoga teachers and serious students can benefit from this workshop, which offers tools to help them deepen their practice or offering as an instructor.
