The intention of this class is to provide an open and safe space to let go of tension, pain and negative energy, and cultivate peace and balance.
High-grade, therapeutic Young Living essential oils, restorative poses with props, stillness and silence will be used to create a space for our bodies and minds to relax. Verbal cues will be limited as well as the poses, which will be held for longer periods of time (6 – 10 minutes). This allows the nervous system to thoroughly unwind and release the tension commonly stored in the connective tissues of the body, activating the “rest and digest” response.
You may bring your own eye pillow and blanket to help you turn inward and reduce external stimulation. Please leave the room quietly, bringing with you your used towels if you will not stay for Yoga Nidra.
Yoga Nidra, or ‘yogic sleep’ is a systematic and accessible guided meditation for healing, releasing long-held emotions and discovering your life purpose while you comfortably lie down on your back. Follow the voice as it takes you through the 5 layers of your being and breath awareness that is calming to the nervous system and promotes deep rest.
This can be practiced by everyone, as long as you can stay still and try your best not to sleep!
